Accessibility

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across all pages. Accessibility is treated as part of publishing rather than as a later remediation task.

What is implemented

• Semantic HTML structure with a single H1 per page and a logical heading order.
• Descriptive alternative text on every meaningful image; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators on interactive controls.
• Colour contrast checked in both light and dark themes.
• A theme toggle that persists your preference, for readers who find one mode easier.
• Reduced-motion support: animations are disabled when your system requests it.
• Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling down to small screens.
• Text that can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or function.

Known limitations

• The market ticker animates continuously; its content is also exposed as static text to assistive technology.
• The calculator uses range inputs, which some assistive technologies present with limited context; numeric values are announced alongside each control.
• Some illustrative imagery is decorative and intentionally carries no alternative text.

Testing approach

We test with keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom, automated contrast checks and screen reader spot checks on new templates before release. Accessibility regressions are treated as publication blockers.
